During Day 6 testimony, Ertl described the locked RAV4 among older vehicles, with branches, a hood, plywood, and other items around it. He said he examined surrounding items, viewed the interior only through the windows, and deferred vehicle processing because of threatening weather before arranging transport in a covered trailer.
