Thomas Pearce testified in Steven Avery's 2007 trial about sharing a photography studio with Teresa Halbach and becoming concerned when she missed work and her voicemail was full. Cross-examination narrowed what he knew about her phone and the unidentified calls she considered a nuisance.

About
Photographer Thomas Pearce shared a studio with Teresa Halbach while she ran her own photography business. In Avery’s trial, he said he last saw her on the Saturday before October 31, 2005, and grew concerned when she did not appear at the studio and he could not leave a voicemail message. He called her mother, Karen Halbach, on Thursday. Pearce believed Halbach’s voicemail was full when he called on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, but said he did not know where she kept her phone away from the studio. He also described calls Halbach considered a nuisance without identifying the callers. In Dassey’s trial, Karen Halbach testified that Pearce had called her on November 3 about Teresa’s absence from the studio and her unusually full business voicemail.
