Physical Evidence
Eleven fired .22-caliber cartridge casings
Kucharski counted eleven casings in the container and said his earlier report and evidence sheet listed ten because he had miscounted. Newhouse testified that all eleven casings had been fired in the rifle he examined. In the Dassey trial, testimony also established that the search team had not swabbed the casings for DNA or preserved them for fingerprint lifting, and Riddle had not examined them.

About
In the Dassey trial opening statement, the State cited the casings as consistent with Dassey's reported number of shots and as proposed physical corroboration of his statement. In the Avery trial, Fassbender said the casings linked to a rifle found in the trailer, but he did not know at that point whether the rifle was connected to the offense.
