Bobby Dassey addressed Halbach's visit and a garage exchange. Officers described property searches, the Avery Road roadblock, and security around the RAV4. The court also heard a stipulation about Mike Osmunson's expected account and reserved ruling on a garage log.

Full day summary

Bobby Dassey was questioned about Teresa Halbach's visit and a garage conversation with Steven Avery and Mike Osmunson. He said Halbach's SUV remained when he left to hunt, but he did not see her or Avery then or hear screams. He said he missed the start of the conversation and understood Avery's remark about a body as a joke. The parties stipulated to what Osmunson would say if called; Osmunson did not testify. Brett Bowe described perimeter security and searches of approximately 4,000 salvaged vehicles, while qualifying the extent of searches in surrounding wooded areas. The court reserved ruling on a proposed garage-log exhibit. Peter O'Connor described the Avery Road roadblock. He thought two vehicles had passed before he could stop traffic, but could not make out his count on a dispatch recording. Jason Orth and Todd Hermann described their observations of and watch over the RAV4. Orth said his looks inside were brief and that he learned from another officer's report that the item bearing Halbach's name was a camera card. Hermann distinguished the decision to transfer investigative authority from the later handoff of RAV4-area security to Calumet County.
